Enriching the Lives of our FACS students

Sewing for a Cause

on March 24, 2014

The 8th graders are working on Chemo bag covers for #TeamMathias12 to donate to the children’s hospitals in the area.  There have been sit and sew sessions in the area, and while Mrs. Allen has not been able to participate in them, she wanted her students to participate in a sewing project that would benefit the community.  The students worked on sewing their shorts project, and when they finished the shorts, they used our left over fabric to make chemo covers for the kids.  They students really enjoyed making these for their classmates cause!  You can read more about the sit and sew efforts and get directions to make the bags at Sylvia’s Blog – and you can read more about what is going on with Mathias at his Caring Bridge page or on the Team Mathias Facebook page

Here are some of the bags that were sewn by the students in class.  It is great to know that we are helping with this cause.  Happy Sewing!
